[Plaza Cafe exterior]

Description: Photograph of the Plaza Cafe exterior in 1940. The exterior walls of the Plaza cafe have potted cacti and agave plants painted in all corners. The signs "Plaza Cafe, Drink Coca Cola, Delicious Mexican Food, Enchiladas and Tortas" are displayed around the top ledges of the exterior. The mural with a charro rider lassoing a bull can be seen on the right side between the paintings of the agave plants. Written on back: "Plaza 1940."

Woods Cafe, early 1940s, McKinney

Description: High vantage point photo of the inside of the cafe, looking towards front door. This is a very busy lunch hour. Most of the men have either hung their hats on the wall rack or still have them on. Only two people have noticed the photographer, the rest are occupied by their meal or conversation. The door to the cafe is propped open, leaving the screen door to allow any sort of breeze in.
