The No. 30 and No. 40 Denton Traction Company streets cars in front of the Denton County Courthouse. The unidentified conductor for the No. 30 is standing next to the car and an unidentified passenger stands in the door. An unidentified passenger is standing in the door of the No. 40 car. The cars are standing at the diverging point for the lines at the intersection of Elm and Hickory streets. The streetcars were made by the Danville Car Company.

Exterior view of the Denton County Courthouse. Five unidentified individuals are standing outside of the courthouse. It was built in 1876 at a cost of $40,000 and was condemned in 1894.
Burial of John B. Denton
Group of individuals on the Denton Square for the burial of John B. Denton on the lawn of the Denton County Courthouse. The pallbearers are E. B. Orr, L. Willis, J. M. Swisher, John W. Gober, J.H. Hawkins, and W. C. Wright. The Minnis and Curtis Drugstore can be seen in the southeast corner of the square. The Exchange National Bank can be seen in the background. This photo was given to the Library by Bess Minnis McFadden, according to a Denton Record-Chronicle article from July 2, 1967.

Burial of John B. Denton on the lawn of the Denton County Courthouse. The pall bearers were John W. Gober, E. B. Orr, L. Willis, J. M. Swisher, J. H. Hawkins, W. C. Wright. Rev. J. T. Denton, one of John B. Denton's sons, was in charge of the services. Son John B. Denton, Jr. and grandson Wiliam Baker were also present.

A view of the business section on the north side of the Denton Square around 1889. All the buildings were constructed of wood, with board sidewalks of even lengths to aid the pedestrian in keeping out of the mud and sand of the unpaved streets. On the left is the three-story Cronston building. The Francis Hardware Store was on the lower floor. The Woodbine building was next to the Cronston and adjoining was Clay Wither's store. Emory C . Smith's law office and R. A. Cobb's confectionery in the next two buildings followed by the McNeil dry goods store. The vacant lot was where the Lacy Hotel had burned down two years before. A saloon stands next and it is connected to a large building in which a meat market was operated.

Dr. Livelong's medicine show arrived by a donkey-pulled wagon on the courthouse square. Homer B. Bronstad of Denton High School was Dr. Livelonger. In the photograph, the ABC Belles are presenting their "Over the Top Tonic", made by Strong and Robust. It was "Guaranteed to cure all Centennial aches and pains." Mrs. Sy Lockhart, president of the Belles, presented comedy lines. The article for this event appeared in the April 5th, 1957 Denton Record-Chronicle on page 5.

Video footage from the WBAP-TV station in Fort Worth, Texas, to accompany multiple news stories. In "LBJ Library Contract Okayed by U-T Regents," the board of regents meets to approve the contract for the LBJ Library. Footage of the future library site and architectural renderings of University Hall are shown. In "Auditor warns of county deficit," the auditor being interviewed warns of upcoming tax increases if Shannon's legislation is passed. "Final rites for fallen Marine" depicts footage of the funeral procession for a deceased serviceman. in "Dr. Peale critical of demonstrations," Dr. Peale and his wife are shown exiting a plane. Miss United Flying presents them with roses. Dr. Peale is interviewed and he criticizes public officials' tolerance for rioting. Lastly, "Denton premier for new picture" is footage from the parade held at the Denton County Square in anticipation of the Southwestern Premier of the film Bonnie and Clyde at the Campus Theater on the Denton Square. The stars of the film attend the parade in historical vehicles. Warren Beatty, Estelle Parsons, and Michael J. Pollard can be seen driving around the square.
