Patent for "means for employing an ordinary continues current from a suitable source to produce an oscillating primary magnetic field of a solenoid-magazine and to use said magnetic field for setting a piston-like armature in a reciprocal axial motion to develop mechanical power in both directions" (lines 11-17).
