Early German edition of Heidi: How She Used What She Had Learned by Johanna Spyri. The entire cover of the book is a red-orange color. At the top of the front cover is an illustration of a cabin nestled in front of a grove of evergreen trees. In the background are mountains resting against a sky with clouds. Wrapping around the illustration is another illustration of pink flowers with green stems and leaves spanning the height of the cover. In the background are tall mountains lit by light on one side. The book is missing its spine, all that remains is remnants of the binding cloth. Behind the cloth are the signatures that the pages of the book are bound into. Inside the book are pages yellowed from age. The illustration in the book are in black and white. On of the illustrations on page 83 is of Heidi sitting in a chair next to another girl chairbound. The girl's chair is plush on the back and has wheels on the side. A compilation of three works, the cover of a play adaptation of Spyri's Heidi written by Ethel Hale Freeman, an image of the title page of a copy of Heidi published by Ginn and Company, and a final copy of Heidi showcasing an illustration in the book. The first image, the play, is of a photocopy the cover of the playbook attached to the cover of a bound hardback book. The second image is over the cover page of a copy of Heidi written by Johanna Spyri and published by Ginn and Company. In the center of the page is a colored illustration of Heidi kneeling in the grass, hugging a goat. On the opposite page is a black and white illustration of a cabin in the woods on a mountain.
