Beach ensemble

Description: Beach ensemble. A) Dark blue wool jersey knit maillot swimsuit with ties from bust to around neck. Elastic at legs. One either side just at hip is large brass /gold plated safety pin, which passes through brass grommets in suit. B) Off-white wrap-around terry cloth skirt with striped blue and white section at waist an in patches on side. C) Matching off-white terrycloth shawl with fringed ends.

[Little Dorrit and Nicholas Nickleby, covers]

Description: Photograph of the covers of Little Dorrit and Nicholas Nickleby in their Lloyd's Sixpenny Dickens versions. Shawl Strap.

Description: Patent for a new and improved shawl strap. This design "relates to shawl, book, and other straps, and has for its object to provide a cheap, simple, and efficient article, which can be used with packages of any size, and fastened thereto easily and quickly without applying buckles to the ends of the straps" (lines 8-13).
