Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Troy Reid Cole. Cole joined the Navy in 1943. Beginning in early 1944, he served as a Quartermaster Second-Class aboard the net laying ship, the USS Silverbell (AN-51). They traveled to Manus Island, Admiralty Islands. They operated between there and Biak (Netherlands East Indies) until mid-September 1944. They supported landings at Leyte Gulf, operating between Leyte, Manila and Subic Bay until November of 1945.
