[Denton City/County Library Bookmobile]

Description: Unidentified men stand in front of a Denton City/County Public Library bookmobile. Denton Public School buses are in the background. The picture was taken across from Congress Junior High School facing Alice Street. In 1938 the schools purchased a bookmobile to provide better library services to schools in the County. The Works Progress Administration funded the staff and maintenance of the bookmobile program.

[Denton Visual Arts Center]

Description: Photograph of the former power plant building on the corner of Bell Avenue and E. Hickory St. after it was converted to the Denton Visual Arts Center, Denton, Texas. In 2010, it continues to be used as a center for the arts. It is a good representation of adaptive reuse of historical buildings.
