Description: Copy of transcript for a letter from Jesse U. Evans to Stephen F. Austin, in which Evans reports that he has so far been unable to complete the survey of David Harris' league and the meandering of the San Jacinto River due to a prolonged illness. Evans has attached his field notes and rough calculations of several leagues and asks Austin to speak to the Alcalde on his behalf at the next meeting of the Ayuntamiento.
