To heighten the long hours of
waiting en route the spirits of the
boosters burst forth In full bloom.
Although all football men slept in
tho Pullman placed Just back of
the chair coach and were told to
remain there they did (mentally).
However they (physically) wan-
dered into the front coach to se-
cure their inspirations for the day.

Ben Greet Talks To
War Whoop Editor
"The greatest actor In modem
times is John Barrymore." Such
was tho characteristic beginning
of tho veteran actor Sir Phillip
Ben Greet when interviewed just
before the play Thursday evening.
Ben Greet has evidently held so
many interviews with college re-
porters that he anticipated the
first question.
"I enjoy the role of Sir Peter
4aeHvta-?Soia..fbTcSaisUr
more than any other that I havo
portrayed" said Ben Greet "ami
next to that Hamlet when I was
young and could play him."
The role of Polonius In "Ham-
let" is very similar to that of Sir
Peter Teasdale a genial humor-
ous old gentleman. Sir Phillip
gave a marvelous interpretation of
Polonius and the character was
admirably suited to his type. The
onlooker forgot that tho portrayal
was acting so very natural was
Ben Greet in the role.
"We have had a manelous re
ception given us by the school au-
diences. "The Strange Interlude"
or any other of the modern dtamas
can boast of having the houses
we have played to. It shows that
tho lovo for Shakespeare is not
dead and that the students appre-
ciate the drama of Shakespeare.
"Tho modern dtamu? Well
some is interesting very interest-
ing but the only adjective to de-
scribe the most of It Is "putrid."
"Shakespeare in modern dress T
That's putrid too and silly."
"The movies will never make a
success of presenting Shakespeure
for they do not have the aetois.
Ramon Navarro might be able to
do Romeo but that Is all. My last
muk a film? They would if I
told them to but I hope that I
will never be reduced to such."
Sir Phillip and the interviewer
were seated on the platform in
tho center of the stage. He was
very cordial and did not seem to
mind giving the time although he
did not hesitate to dismiss the re-
porter when the allotted time was
up as ho had to dress for the
play.
"I adored Maude Adams nnd
am glad she is returning to the
stage. Of the modern actresses I
prefer Eva La Galllene und June
Cowl."
When asked concerning his fu-
ture plans Sir Phillip said he
would continuo producing that it
was the only thing held In common
with the movies- it continued.
The impression was guined thut
Poter Deurmg would continue us
tte assistant director. "Itldieu-
lous running after a 17 jeui old
boy for interviews und autographs.
He'll be tiying to get my place
next" wus the comment mude.
Sir Phillips it fused to discuss
other ptoducers of Shakespeare
and dismissed the reporter with
tho wish "I hope you'll enjoy
'Hamlet.' "
