SAN SABA COUNTY
As well as we remember Sanj
Saba county was organized at some j
period in the past since the exact
date is of minor importance we
will not burden our readers by
best authority wercan qbtainitookj
place in the past it haskopt righ
along organizing all the time But
bo all that as it may we want it
distinctly understood before we
proceed with this article that the
COUNTY UA3 OEQAK1ZED
in the past and remains organized
yet Then with this fact estab
lished as a starter we can proceed
But dear reader when it is said that
a county is organized it were well
that you stop and reflect a bit on
what is embodied in that one word
organized It doeb not mean
that a few men prescribe bounda
ries about a large tract of wild
wasted lands and have it declared
an organized county then after
wards have our legislators wrestl
ing with a bill to disorganize such
organized county According to
our idea an organized county takes
in much There must be
GOOD LANDS
for agricultural purposes not one
little spot but many acres of broad
rich fertile productive soil In
this respect our county is donbly
blessed Our rich lauds our large
valley farmes our broad and ex-
tensive up land fields our beauti-
ful grassy prairies mountain binds
all combine to establish the fact
that our comity has as
JIUCH LAND
to its size as any county in tho
State Now that may seem strange
but when we say land we dont
meairnrarstiei bogs swamps hillsr
rocks nor wastes but we meau
genuine first class rich fertile
productive lands with all the es-
sential requisites necessary to
make this the leading agricultur-
al county in the State Now on a
question of laud San Sabo stands
PliEEJIINENTLY
in the lead If any one doubts this
or thinks we are exagerating he
can write to or call on any of our
land agents We refer to our land
agents because they generally
know more about the land than the
owners themselves do But then
a county with fine lands would not
do to organize unless there was
PLEXTV OF WATER
In that respect San Saba county
stands second to none excopt lit-
tle Hawaii In fact it do seem
that in the formation of this couh
ty Darae old Nature tried her hand
at irrigation or as most commonly
supposed she used this county as
a summer watering resort while
she finished up these other counties
in this portion of Texas We cau
very truthfully say that this county
has almost a natural
SYSTEM OF WATERWORKS
with our beautiful valleys as drain-
age sewerH with our hundreds of
bold never failing springs of pure
fresh water as orifices and nature
herself as the inexhaustible reser
voir The sport of fishing is a
failure where thero is no water
but San Saba county has won a
reputation on account of her nu
merous and beautiful streams a
live with tho various species of
fishes noted as good biters
THE WORLD OVER
ns n fishing resort In proof of
the above p ople have come here
from every state in tho union
from England Ireland Germany
and Sweeden and fished in onr
streams as for what luck they had
we wrtnt say sorao people say a
plegged sight too much anyway A
So on tho question of land and
water our county is O K nnd dont
you forget it These tno fncts es

yotvsay their platforms emanated
from the same street oach had its
string of planks linked together
in two links That we could have
twoediffereut links of sausage but
made of the same dog Not much
difference in the sausage not much
difference in the platforms
If thoso platforms emanated

platforms corrupt Can anything
good come from an evil source If
tlustwo links of sausage are made
from the same dog is not the

As the platform is supposed to

Spring board to jump into office

action of tho party when in power

that tho Populist party possesses
all of the living principles of the
old Democratic party when the
populists have never been in pow
I seo nothing to gain by dis
cussing the principles of a party
when you declare that platforms
are nothing but spring boards
Why do you submit these ques
tions for discussion when you have
failed to prove that there aro but
two parties labor and capital
Have you got other proof than that
uoted from the Chicago Daily
ress It seems to m if you
irish to leave the question we
started with that it would be more
practical to discuss the means by
xhieh you expect to prevent the
party or voto bosses from manip
ulating the wires or how you ex

boing spring boards made to jump
