It is far better on a slender figure to
allow the crinoline to reach to the

better dispense with the stiff material
altogether and elect for a lining of

Season of Frills
This ia to be or possibly i would be
more correct to say this is a season of
frills A few ruffles at the foot of the
gown skirt was the beginning of what
has nrorcd to be a veritable epidemic
RUFFLES ARE ALL THE FJL8
of ruffles It was predicted that they
wonld creep upward until they reached
the waist line but no one foretold
that they would as they have done
reach the neck Not only have they
reached the neck in the form of a
raffled bertha but thev have estab-
lished themselves at the top of the
sleeves as caps Sometimes they aro
mounted on a plain piece which form
the cap and again the cap is made of
two very full frills one a trifle shorter
than the other as is seen in the illus-
tration These double caps go quits
around the arm but arc narrowed
where the edges meet at the under-
arm seam of the bodice The trim-
ming at the foot of the gown skirt cor-
responds to the cap frills at the shoul-
der of the bodice
The Acceptable Ime Turban
Tho Duse turbans are becoming to
faces cither round or slender because
as the crown is low and the brirn of
only moderate depth tho hat can bo
left in its original shape for slender
faced women or built up with tower-
ing trimmings for those with full
faces These turbans and many other
hats of similar shape can be worn up-
on any occasion the plain or elaborate
style of their garniture settling the
question of their appropriateness for
church theater street or traveling
use For fulldress wear some of the
Duso turbans are made wholly of fino
flowers the standing garniture formed
of longstemmed roses and foliage

Be on your Guard
If some gnbeers urge another baking
powder uponyou in place of the Royal
it is because of the greater profit upon it
This of itself is evidence of the supe-
riority of the Royal To give greater
profit the other must be a lower cost
powder and to cost less it must be made
with cheaper and inferior materials and
thus though selling for the same give
less value to the consumer
To insure the finest cake the most
wholesome food be sure that no substi-
tute for Royal Baking Powder is accepted
by you
Nothing can be substituted for
the Royal Baking Powder
and give as good results

of communication exist between ani-

gether proves this Every one has
noticed that ants stop to greet one
another when they meet One species
of money utters six distinct sounds to
express tho consciousness of the pres-
ence of danger The deer uses three
different sounds to express the same
idea If man was placed back in the
coudition of the primitive ages he
would use a simtlar method of expres-
sion
