A great many burglaries are being
committed here and in tho county
and it will requirea determined
effort to put an end to these opera-

The county commissioners met
in special session on the 1st to ap-
prove ihe bonds of those county and
precinct ollicors who had not quali
fled at a previous session of the
court Collector Meyers bond was
approved by tlio stato comptroller
last Saturday and bo will today
take charge of tho office Mr S L

tho unexpired term of Anton Berk
ofsky in this ollice will be Mr

nett deputy will resume his law

As borne of the old Confederates
who need the pension seem to think
that as the amendment cairied in
tho election November 1 they cap
now draw pensions it is not amiss
to state for their information that
tho pension amendment 1b notself
executing and nothing can be done
until the legislature passes u law
regulating the awarding of pensions
and making tho appropriation of
250000 provided for in the amend-
ment out of which they are to be
