The American Revolution and events it set into
motion influenced the later settlement and struggle
for independence in Texas by people of many na-
tions.
This official emblem of Texas' participation in the
nation's 1976 Bicentennial celebration recognizes
that development. Converging arrows superimposed
on the state outline represent the confluence of the
many ethnic groups that contributed to the formation
of the Lone Star State and to its heritage.
