Henson himself describes the
tunnel world of Fraggle Rock as
"a small place just beyond every-
day reality,” that is Inhabited by
the likes of Gobo, Wembley,
Mokey and Uncle Traveling Matt.
Gobo is the leader of the Frag-
gle pack, and in each episode, he
must sneak Into Doc’s workshop
and avoid the tinkerer’s mutt.
Sprocket, to retrieve the most re-
cent post card from Traveling
Matt. Doc, played by Gerry
Parkes, is the only non-Muppet In
thecaktA'
Each show Includes original
music, and the drama — if that’s
the proper word — results In a
simple, though sophisticated,
message.
In "Wembley and the Gorgs,”
for Instance, Gobo and Wembley
leave Fraggle Rock in search of a
new lucky walking stick.
Wembley is trapped under a
flower pot by Junior Gorg, and
Gobo summons Mokey and the
others to the rescue. Wembley, In
the meantime, enjoys a big dinner
with the Gorgs, and is reluctant to
leave.
They’re all captured and held
as slaves before Wembley
realizes what’s happening and
nips Pa Gorg on the snout. The
furry and feathered creatures
escape to Fraggle Rock In the
confusion.
“I guess some slavery feels like
freedom,” Wembley says before
turning in that night. “I didn’t
know what they were trying to do
until they did it to you.”
The “cast” for “Fraggle Rock”
includes puppeteers Jerry
Nelson, Dave Goelz, Steve Whit-
mire, Kathryn Mullen and
Richard Hunt, veterans of “The
Muppet Show,” ^nd Karen Prell
from “Sesame Street.”
The new series is produced in
collaboration with the Canadian

By DICK KLEINER
NEA Correspondent
DEAR DICK: There Is a rumor
going around that Tom Selleck
posed naked for Playgirl
magazine. I don’t believe it, but I
have to know for sure. I’m very
fond of him and It would really
disgust me if this was true. L.F.,
Norwood, Mo.
Rest easy. Playgirl, in its
September issue, did print an ar-
ticle about Tbm and a picture of
him. But the picture was just a
head shot. Neither article nor pic-
ture were authorized, but they
were not destructive in any way.
DEAR DICK: Could you tell me
if the movie version of
“Camelot,” starring Richard
Harris and Vanessa Redgrave,
has ever been on TV? D.B.,
Michigan City, Ind.
Yes, it has.
DEAR DICK: Whatever
became of the movie “Jonathan
Livingston Seagull”? I saw it in
1974 but haven’t heard of it since.
What are my chances of seeing it
again? M.D., Quincy, 111.
Not too good, unless you are on
some cable/pay-TV system. It
shows on cable from time to time,
but probably won’t be shown on
network TV again.
DEAR DICK: Weren’t there
three Beery brothers? There was
Wallace, who died, and Noah, of
“The Rockford Files” and I
thought there was one other.
E.K.D., Trenton, N.J.
You are right that there were
three Beerys — William was the
third — but you are wrong about
one thing. Noah Beery of “The
Rockford Files” is the son of the
first Noah, who was Wally and
William’s brother.
