Wedding Bells Ring
For Several Exes
Wedding bells have sounded loudly in
ex-student ears in recent weeks. Among
the weddings are:
Tomi Jane Teaff and A. D. May, both
of Knox City, June 13.
Mary Nell Hamilton of Abilene, for two
years fiscal clerk at Camp Barkeley, to
Flight Officer Clarence J. Schwarz of Chi-
cago.
Mary Jane Sage of Abilene to Lt. Coy
A. Sims, recently commissioned at the Big
Spring, Texas bombardier school.
Leta Rue Riddle, voice major graduate,
and John Nelson Bryan, Baylor medical
student.
Lillian Swetman and Ens. W. F. Bur-
roughs, June 11, in Louisiana. Ensign
Burroughs is in the Coast Guard.
June Eve Malouf of Knox City and Lt.
Glen Egan of Houston.
Wanda Mae Clements, Abilene, H-SU
graduate and graduate of the Hollywood
Playhouse, and Lt. Charles K. Otis, Camp
Barkeley, July 18, in Abilene.
Janelle Hartwick of Anson, Texas, and
Lt. Lonnie A. Doyle, Jr., of Floydada,
Texas. Both are Hardin-Simmons exes
and expect to do foreign mission work
after the war.

Weyrick, ex of 1941.
Lelia Darleen Werner of Abilene and
Lt. Thomas Rooney of the MAC at Camp

Induction Ceremony
Is AII-H-SU Affair
Hardin-Simmons really was in the fore-
front recently when Jean Elizabeth Way,
a 1944 graduate, was sworn into the
WAVES. The ceremony took place in the
office of the H-SU president. Lt. Comdr.
Gus W. Cooke of Dallas, administered the
oath and Dean L. Q. Campbell was the
witness. Commander Cook, one of the
highest ranking Naval exes, is in charge
of officer procurement in the Dallas re-
gion. Miss Way is in officer training
school.

To New Pulpit
The Rev. J. M. Sibley August 1 became
pastor of the Calvary Baptist church of
Beaumont, Texas, after five and a half
years at the First church of Sweetwater.
Previously he served the Phoenix Avenue
Baptist church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
