THE WAY
TO PROGRESS
*That giant oven is a still . . . first set to
w ork on the outskirts of Corsicana, on Christmas day,
1898. Most useful product of that first Southwestern
refinery was kerosene. Magnolia men were proud when
they processed 500 barrels of crude oil a day. Today at
Beaumont, more than 150,000 barrels of crude flow
through the metal arteries. Here trained men with mod-
ern equipment are manufacturing more than 400 useful
petroleum products. Gasolines, lubricating oils, greases,
waxes, solvents, heating oils, Diesel fuel oils, liquefied
petroleum gases and raw materials for plastics and syn-
thetic rubber are but a few. At home, on farms and high-
ways, in industry and aviation, Magnolia petroleum
products light your way toward better living.
