THE TEXAS LEAGUE.
The teams in the Texas League
during the 1911 season furnished
lovers of the National game one
of the closest and prettiest races
for the pennant in the history of
the present organization. Not un-
til the last series of games was
well under way was it possible to
pick the final winner with any
degree of certainty. Contests for
second, third and fourth places
were equally as close.
The season closed with Austin
holding championship honors. Fort
Worth finished second and San
Antonio third.
