At least at the Methodist Church in Tulia the best part of a turkey dinner is the stuffing.
The annual community wide turkey dinner by the Methodist women was as good as
ever, and as big as ever.
Accompanying LeMaster
were her mother, Kynini, her
brother, Laith, her grandfather,
two aunts mid their husbands, her
cousm. Coach Miller and Coach
Criswell Matthew and Casey
Thompson, David Lee Hulsey,
and Tale Criswell were also in
attendance. LeMaster received
several phone calls before the
race to wish her well and several
congratulator)- calls after the
race. She has an overwhelming
appreciation for the support she
has had from the Tulia base.
LeMaster will now continue
with her basketball season,
which she looks forward to, and
she'll end the year with what
looks to be a successful track
season

HORNET...... CHAMP......
bottom oi their respective dis- ®r®,on Monday, Nov
tnct.
But they did muster out a
shocking 20-14 overtime win
against Perryton and rallied in
district, beating Canadian 19-14
and Panhandle 21-14 along the
way while captunng the 1-2A
crown outright.
When asked where Stratford
could be vulnerable, coach Wil-
son answered, “We’ve noticed
that their secondary is probably
their weakest link. They play a
lot of man-to-man coverage and
we’ll see if we can use that
against them. Also, most of their
starters play both ways, so we’ll
do what we can to wear them
down.”
At this point in the season,
i Tulia is also playing several
players both ways and is wear-
i ing thin at a few positions thanks
L to injuries. The Hornet JV will
suit up as well on Friday to add
some depth and help deal with
that problem.
For starters, as in the words of
the famous TV chef Emenl. the
Hornets will look to “kick things
up a notch” from the regular sea-
son. The adrenaline rush and
•- emotions will be higher than
ever
Those ingredients plus consis-
tent, focused all around play
. could lead to “Bam!” another
Hornets playoff win. As w-c all
witnessed last year, anytlung can
happen in the playoffs. A solid
Post team went into last years
Bidistrict match up a 16-point
favorite over the Hornets. Tulia
responded with a 19-14 defeat of
the Antelopes. Who knows what
the Harris line will be for
Friday’s game and quite frankly,
who cares? It is all to be settled
within the white lines. And tlie
Hornets can hardly wait
