in Canadian Monday en route to
Tobe, Colo., where they have one
of Uncle Sam's homestead farms;
and of course that is their home

H. M. Petree writes from Rich-
mond, Mo., to forward the Cana-
dian Record to him at that place
He states that his section has just
received four inches of rain.
R. W. Brown, more familiarly
known by his friends as "Rich"
,Brown, this ween took possession
of the Ben Doriey ranch which he
recently purchased, paying $16
per acre for it. There are 1,90C
acres in this place. Mr. Brown re-
■ cently sold his ranch of 2,000 acres
; near Zybach. This place cost him
$7.00 an acre when he purchased
it, and the increase in price netted
him $16,000 when he sold it.
Protracted Meeting at
the Baptist Church
Begins Sunday, April 4th, and con-
tinues two weeks. Meetings daily
at 2.30 p. m. and 7 p. m. The Rev.
W. L. Tubbs, general evangelist ,
for the Panhandle, will preach.
S. J. Strickland of Fort Worth will
lead the singing.

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Isaacs have
returned from their winter's stay
at Marlin and Mineral Wells for,
the benefit of Mr. Isaacs' health.

proved from his stay at the health

Wm. Victor returned home Sunj
day afternoon from near Kansas
City where he was called by the
illness and death of his father,
Robert Victor, who will be remem-
bered by many citizens of Cana-
dian. He spent several winters
with his son, Wm. Victor, who lives j
in the Washita community. He wap,j
past 74 years of age and had been
a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge;
for 44 years. He was represent-
ative to the Grand Lodge twice.

The funeral o* little Margaret;
Virginia Nix was held Tuesday
morning and interment made in
the Canadian cemetery. The funer-1
al services were conducted by the
Rev. M. M. Beavers. A large num-
ber of friends of Mrs. Nix and of.
Virginia's grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Todd, attended the fun-
eral and the floral offerings were
profuse. The flowers covered the
grave of Margaret Virginia and
also that of her father who died
last winter. The little girl died
Sunday morning after an illness
of a few weeks, the result of
whooping cough.

The editor had the pleasure
last Saturday, thru the courtesy
of Dan Witt, of ;attsnding the Red
Deer Hereford Breeders sale at
Miami. The storm that came up
made the trip quite a wild ride,
but the enclosed Buick of Mr.
Witt's made the open roads much
less disagreeable than the folks at
home would imagine.

J. R. Edwards of Zybach re-
turned home one day last week
from Dallas where his daughter,
Miss Mattie, had undbrgtone an
operation for appendicitis. He
states that 3he is recovering and
he will return to Dallas one day
this week. Mr. Edwards was the
purchaser of the Zybach farm, one
of the best places in Wheeler
County. It was rep'ortsd to the Rec-
ord that Mr. Sleeks had purchased
the place, but this was an error
