Mr. Phillips waa born in GMorgia
November 28, 1864, died October XI,
l'.Lil at Peacock, Texas.
He, with his parents, left Georflu
und came to Texas at the age of 7
years. lie has lived in different
parts of the state but has spent sev-
eral years in Stonewall and Kent
counties. He was a good man anrt
a good neighbor and had many friendB
who regret to learn of his going ana
by whom he will be missed.
lie became a christian in l'J19 and
joined the Methodist church, of which
lie was a member until death.
'In is writer has known liro. Phil-
lips for quite a number of years and
found him ever ready to give evidence
of that, hope of a better place alter
death.
Mr. Phillips was married to Miss
Sue Hintoii in January 1B8S.
To this union, eleven chlldre were
born---only four survive. They are:
Mr. Van Phillip:; and Mrs. Daisy Phil-
lips, of Peacock, Mrs. Mat-tie Walker
of Jay ton, Texas, and Mrs. Kate Mar-
iiin of Corsieuna, Texas.
Funeral sendees were conducted Dy
the writer and interment was had it)
the Aspermont cemetery Monday af-
ternoon.
May the blessings of God rest and
abide with each bereaved heart.
