NOTES FROM
PEACOCK
Bv Mrs. M. F. Childress
Well, it looks like we had
a little excitement in Pea-
cock over the weekend. These
two men were out horseback
riding Saturday afternoon
and it was getting late, when
they rode up on a grave. It
was about six feet long near
a tree and well protected.
They decided to wait until
Sunday morning to investigate
further.
Sunday monring A. B.
Meador callcd Mr. Frank
Poore to investigate the
scenery. So, they went to
digging — they dug about
three feet but no luck, then
they dug to four feet and
there it was — a big brown
dog. What a joke on Paul
Meador and Daniel Moor-
head, the finders.
The Peacock Baptist
Church had a big day Sun-
day. They had church, dinner
on the grounds, then a sing-
ing. The members reported a
good time. Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Doss, a former pastor, came
from Abilene.
Mr. Sam Clement and fami-
ly visited Mrs. R. W. Clem-
ents over the weekend.
Visitors in the home of
Mrs. Billy Burt Mullin over
the weekend were Bill Mul-
len, Paul Melton both of Lub-
bock, Russell and Lisa Kay
Willingham, Jim Clifton, and
Chris Perrin, all from Ham-
lin.
Visiting in the home of
Mrs. Joe Meador were Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Cumbie
and family of Sweetwater,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. Meador
and boy and Mr. and Mrs.
Billy Ray Meador and family
from Peacock.
There will be a rummage
