Rebecca Kaye Atchison of Sanger
and Michael Justin Morrow of Pem-
broke Pines. Florida were united in
marriage Saturday. February 23.2002
at the First Baptist Church in Sanger.
Dr. E.L McNeal officiated at the
double-ring ceremony. The bride’s en-
gagement ring was a gift from the
groom’s grandmother. Mary Morrow,
originally given to her 55 years ago by
the groom’s grandfather.
Parents of the bride are Wesley
and Sandra Atchison of Sanger. Grand-
parents of the bride are Mildred
Atchison and Bonnie Travelstead. both
of Sanger. The bride is a 1998 gradu-
ate of Sanger High School and gradu-
ated from Stephen F. Austin Slate Uni-
versity in December, 2001.

The groom graduated from Marcus
High school. Flower. Mound, Texas in
1992 and attended the University of
North Texas. He is manager of
Murray’s Restaurant in Pembroke
Pines, Florida.
Maid of Honor was Debra Gillum.
Bridesmaids were Stephanie Atchison,
cousin of the bride. Aarin Boswell and
Jill Ervin. Flower girl was Jade Inpex,
cousin of the bride. Registering guests
were Stephanie Stephens and Kate
Kelley.
Best man was Ryan Morrow,
brother of the groom. Groomsmen
were Jason langhorne, Danny Crow
and Chris Bedford. Ushers were Eric
Atchison, brother of the bride and
Brandon Travelstead. cousin of the
bride. Ringbearer was Ashton Major.
Following the lighting of the unity
candle by the bride and groom. Renet*
Travelstead. aunt of the bride, sang
roses and daisies. The flower girl wore
a white peau de soie floor-length dress
made by the bride’s mother featuring
a pearl-encrusted bodice, and pearl
buttons cascading down the back. The
ringbearer’s pillow was also made by
the bride’s mother.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted
by Rob & Mary Morrow of Double
Oak, Texas.
The dinner reception was held at
the Texas Sundown Ranch. Ernie
Travelstead, uncle of the bride and
Brandon Travelstead, cousin of the
bride sang "When You Say Nothing at
AH” by Keith Whitley for the bride and
groom’s first dance. Music and an-
nouncements at the reception were
provided by Greg Jones, long-time
friend of the bride’s aunt The navy blue
claypot centerpieces at the reception
were all hand-painted by the groom’s
mother as well as favors for the
children’s tables, and given as gifts to
friends and family members at the end
of the reception.
The couple departed February 25.

physical program, McConnell spent
Stacy Stockard and Sarah numerous hours in classroom and
Griffeth of Sanger, have been field assignments which included
named to the Texas Tech Dean’s teaming firri aid, hand-to-hand com-
bat and assorted weapons training.
McConnell ended the training
phase with The Crucible, a 54-hour
team effort, problem-solving evolu-
tion which culminated with an emo-
tional ceremony in which the re-
cruits were presented the Marine
Corps Emblem, and were addressed
. as “Marines” for the first time.
McConnell isa 2001 graduate of
Krum High School and is the son of
Virginia and Bill Nichols of Krum.

and Brandon Travelstead. cousin of the
bride, sang “I Will Be Here" by Stephen
Curtis Chapman. Sherry Muir was or-
ganist. Rick Stephens coordinated the
musical selections at the soundboard.
The bride’s princess-style Alfred
Angelo peau de soie gown featured a
pearl-embroidered square neckline.
The back of the dress was accented
with pearl buttons from the neckline
cascading to the hem of the chapel-
length train. The pearl-sprinkled finger-
tip veil was attached to a headband
embroidered with pearls matching the
neckline of the dress. As her “some-
thing old," the bride pinned a handker-
chief which was given by her great-
grandfather to her great-grandmother.
The “sixpence in her shoe" was the one
her mother wore in her shoe when she
was married, and the wedding garter
was purchased in a Nottingham, En-
gland lace factory by the bride’s
mother. Her bouquet was a cascade of
lipstick roses and daisies.
The maid of honor wore a floor-
length navy blue satin Betsy & Adam
ballgown featuring a drape front and a
chiffon drape cascading down the
back. The bridesmaids wore alternat- ■ Pines, Florida, where they will reside.
Elizabeth MacKenzie, a gradu-
ate of Sanger High School is on the
First Semester Honorable Mention
Honor Roll at Central Christian
College in McPherson, Kansas.
To be on tile Honorable Men-
tion Honor Roll, a student must
have a 3.00 to 3.29 grade point av-
erage.
MacKenzie is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William MacKenzie
of Sanger.
