Cora. L; As your hair is short and I
thin and yoa nave so mucn trouDie to
make it stay up and look neat try
shampooing it with a teaspoonful of
canthrox dissolved in a cup of hot
water. This shampoo is the one gen-

to make the hair look thicker and lus-
trous. It produces an abundant lather
dries quickly and not only cleans the
hair and scalp well but stops all irri-
tation and gives the scalp a feeling of
pleasing freshness. Canthroxvmakes a
delightful shampoo and will make
your hair soft and fluffy. You will
have little trouble tfaen to make your
hair look nice. Never use soap for
shampooing' as it makes the hair brit-

Grace: Long curly lashes and thick
rfossy eyebrows add greatly to personal
beauty. Get a small original package
of pyroxin from your druggist and
with forefinger and thumb apply a
little at lash-roots; also rub some on
eyebrows with finger-end. Do this a
few times and you will have beautiful
eyelashes and brows. Use care and
don't get any pyroxin where no hair
is wanted.
Madam X.: Nature intended that aU
women should have voluptuous figures
and even though your bust is under-
developed with the famous vaucaire
treatment you can soon have a figure
that is well rounded and pleasing to
look upon. You can prepare the vau-
caire treatment right in your own
home by dissolving 1 1-2 cupfuls sugar
in 1 pint water. To this add 1 ounce
gallol Pand take of It 3 teaspoonfuls
before meals. Kee up treatment until
figure is properly developed.
Mrs. L.: What awfcame to' have wast-
ed so much money in vainly trying to
get rid of your fat. I have a formula
that some f niv close friends have
tried with r.jrlous success. Here it
as. Dissolve four ounces of parnotis

Mercedes: You say your comnlexion
ls lifeless and you are constantly tired
ana drowsy. J.'nis comes from too lit-
tle exercise and an over-indulgence In
heavy foods causing a sluggish con-
dition of the blood and a lack of proper
nourishment for the body. Here is a
simple and inexpensive recipe for an
excellent blood-tonic and body-builder.
Buy at any drug store an ounce of
kardene and put in a half-pint alcohol
(not whisky) then add a half cupful
sugar and hot water to make a full
quart. Take a tablespoonful before
each meal. This tonic expels impuri-
ties and enriches the blood. It will
give you renewed energy and your
oomplxion will assume its natural
health tint.
Gertrude J.: The dandruff itching
scalp and brittle falling hair with
split ends of which you complain come
from a diseased ecalp due to the pres-
ence of germs. The surest way to get
rid of these troubles quickly and re-
move the germs will be to shampoo
twice a month with canthrox and rub
into your scalp twice a -week a quinine
hair tonic made by dissolving one
ounce of quinzoin in half a .pint of
alcohol (not whisky) then adding half
a pint of cold water. Use this tonic
regularly and- it will remove the dan-
druff and irritation; stop your hair
from falling out and make it soft and
glossy.
S. D.: Yes nothing is a more im-
portant factor in a beautiful face than
bright clear youthful eyes. You
should use regularly a good eye-tonic.
Get an ounce of crystos; dissolve it in
a pint of water and use two or three
drops in each eye daily. It will clear
and strengthen your eyes remove all
signs of -weakness and inflammation
and make them bright and sparkling.
For weak dull expressionless' eyes I
think this tonic simply wonderful. It
is very soothing and is fine for those
who wear glasses.
G. E. A.: When you wear a veil face
powder will not help your complexion
much as it rubs off too easily. What
you need is a good lotion that will not
show on the skin. The next time you
go to the drug store jcet four ounces of
spurmax and dissolve it in one-half
pint of hot water or witch hazel add-
ing two teaspoonfuls of glycerine. This
lotion will clear up and whiten your
skin make it soft and velvety and give
you a beautiful complexion. It will
rid your skin of that shiny greasy
sallow look and make it appear charm-

Property Owners Making Up Fund to
Form Baals of Important Inter-
national Project.
The movement that has neen under
way here for some time for a free
bridge between El Paso and Juarez has
crystallized in the form of an agree-
ment of property owners along El Paso
street to subscribe in proportion to
their frontage toward the opening of
lower El Paso street to the full width
of the street and the construction- of
a modern concrete bridge Of the full
width.
Tho nlan Is to make El Paso street
a central boulevard uniting the heart
of El Paso and the heart of Juarez. In
Juarez the new street leads directly to
the principal governmental and busi-
ness buildings. Therfact that El laso

plan an opportunity to present lis au-

For 26 years John Garvin has pulled
a throttle on a great Rock Island en-
gine. He has been in charge of pas-
senger engines Nos. 23 and 24 out of
this city for so long that he is said
to know every tie on his run. His
home Is at 904 east Bluff street. This
Is Mr Garvin's statement.
"Plant Juice has done me lots of
good. I have only praise for it. It
has relieved me of indigestion liver
and kidney trouble as nothing else has
and I feel better than I have for years.
My wife also takes it for Its fine tonic
effects. It keeps away malaria. I tell
all of the railroad boys about it and
as soon as any of them get to feeling
off .they go after it " It does all that
is claimed for it and is worthy of the
confidence of everyone."

TO
SUFFERING
Until recently because of a population made
from all over the universe anything calling him-
self Medical Institute or some kind of Specialist
could drop in advertise a bit get money and
drift on. A few of that class are "hangers on"
and from their statements would make you be-
lieve that they actually owned this part of the
world by priority. In law I understand this ap-
plies to realty only or possibly to some fellow's
wife or cow which in Texas is also realty.
I lived in this city ten years ago did business
here just like I am today had a successful busi-
ness cured people just like I am doing today.
Have friends some of whom are among the very
highest type of financiers and representative
citizens who have been my friends all these
years. For personal reasons I moved to Port
Worth where I have been identified with every-
thing demanded of a public man; where I have
practically reared a family and where I have
friends by the thousand. I own a home there
that if could be set in this city would be consid-
ered one of the best but that is impossible; I own
realty or homes in other Texas cities as well as
in other states that I cannot bring here
but I did bring here an honorable rep-
utation with a financial standing that
I am proud of and which is today fill-
ing my office with the "best people of
this city as patients. I am proud of
my past in this great state.
I am proud of the fact that I have been one of its
builders and am glad that I did not have to come
here a bum as some I know who could not live at
other places and who seem to have forgotten the
fact but who think they are landed lords and
own the country by priority.
I LIKE TO SEE !A MAN SUCCEED but if he
must fall because of stronger competition there
is nothing left but to "drop a fitin'."
I came to you some months since announcing
that I had returned again to cast my lot with
you brought statements from my banks pa-
tients friends political religious business and
financial. I have shown my record to be clean
since I left you and that I have been doing the
same high class work that I did before and asked
to be considered for a portion of your business in
my line.
Tou have responded well to date and I have been
able to make more good and lasting friends cure
more patients for the same time as well as take
more for treatment than when here before or at
any other place. My statements of facts to you
gave you confidence your response gave me ani-
mated vigor and I feel today that with my 24
years of experience with everything that a Spe-
cialist needs I will cure more people who have
been botched over than at any time in my life.
The fact is few men have been to my office here
who have not been treated by some socalled spe-
cialist who in many cases was ashamed of his
name much less -make them a contract that
would be worth a peso in Mex.

Do You Know the Record of Most of
the So-called Specialists?
It is strange that supposed intelligent men and
women 'will go to su6h people trust their lives as
well as pay them enormous prices for what they
boast they are doing without ever knowing that
they have made a cure except from their state-
ment. Why will you do it when it is so easy to
. find out.
' You ask how are we to know? The answer is
go to your bank or financial friend ask the
credit association for a history of their past and
demand reference from cured people that you
know.
Every person knows that if he has found a repu-
table Dr. who has been able to cure him he likes
to send his friends-as well as strangers and
gladly testifies that it may bring them to a place
where they can be honestly cured. No Dr. will
advertise your private condition for gain and if '
he does you have the moral right to smack him
one in the mouth.
!N0W I All HERE FOR BUSINESS and if not
a resident Specialist I would like to know one
who is: I will purchase a home soon and expect
to without selling my other realty holdings and
I expect to make good every proposition I make
here just like I have in all places I have ever
been and my history is open for inspection.
After examination I will tell you just what can
' be done and if you put up your money to get well
I will back my judgment not only with the brains
to do it but a contract that if I make a mistake
you do not have to come to me to ask for money
back but just take your check to the bank and
get it whenever you want it.
In conclusion I ask you to just consider who
makes the propositions o get you as a patient
and if his record warrants any or all the things
he says he will do for you. Of course if you are
so far gone physically that you have no sense of
discrimination then I am sorry for you and you
- need and should apply for a guardian because
you will go to the greatest shouter of things and
will be left in the same condition that I have
found dozens since I have returned here who did
try the irresponsible to simply lose time and
money. t
I Treat and Gure Chronic and Private

Any time a promise is made to cure I will give

Milton Mooney who publishes the of-
ficial program for the Texas Cattle-

Paso preparatory to getting out the
program for the 1913 convention. He
is also discussing plans for 'holding a
horse show in El Paso during the con-
vonHA
Mr. Mooney owns a $10000 tandem I
room n.l.f.1. I.... . . .. r
.j. . uu nsBa ine prize at an
the big horse shows in the country and
is also the owner of other show horses.
His tandem and outfit Is equipped with
electric lights 8W in all. and is very
beautiful.
Mr. Mooney thinks a horse show could
be promoted with success for the con-
vention. He wants to make It a char-
ity affair and a part of the official en-
tertainment. Howard Fogg who is the champion
hog raiser of the Rio Grande valley
Is urging the chamber of commerce
to arrange a fat stock show as a part
of the Cattle Raisers' convention. Mr.
Fogg says he will assist in raising
funds for the cattle show and will
head the list with a subscription as
fat as his prize winning hog.
Oklahoma City Is rounding up dele-
gates to the Panhandle and South-
western Stockmen's convention at Am-
anita in March and branding them the
"O. C." which means that they are for
Oklahoma City as the 1914 meeting
place for the association. If El Paso
wishes to have a look-in at this con-
vention and to get the 1914 meeting
It will have to hustle.
Oklahoma city is also coming to
El Paso for the Texas Cattle Raisers'
association meeting in March.
