-JT-T,
This is the architectural drawing of planned renovations in the Tarleton Center. Such
changes in the works are a TSU living area, a visitor information center, a glass display
case and a booth for various sales, drives, and elections.
Tarleton Center renovations begin
Renovation has begun on the
ground floor of the Tarleton
Center, said Ed Knoll, Center
director.
According to the architect's
drawing shown on this page.
Space 1 will be a display area
with a two-sided glass enclosure.
The structure will be lockable
and capable of displaying
three-dimensional objects, art

said the entire TSU family will
have access to this area by
reservation.
Space II will hold a booth
area to be used in Student
Senate elections, pre-ticket sales,
plant sales and membership
drives. Access to this area, too,
will be available to the TSU
family by reservation. Knoll
said.
A TSU visitor information
center will occupy Space III.
Knoll said this area would allow
potential students to pick up
brochures and give them access
to a university map not only

The half ballroom. Space IV,
has been designed as an informal
living room The seating area,
■ which will accomodate about 50
people, will be a non-food area
for students to study, relax or
enjoy informal conversation in
small groups The space may
occasionally be used to fulfill
"formal" needs. Knoll said, such
as UIL regional meets, teas and
smokers When larger student
activities arise, the total
ballroom may be used and
decorated for the function.
Knoll said he hopes the
renovation, which is being
financed by the new Tarleton
Center fee, will be completed by
the beginning of this spring's
finals.
