Springfest participants
enjoy food, festivities
By CINDY PRESTRIDGE
Contributor
Springfest '88 began last Thursday
with dinner on the grounds, con-
sisting of excellent barbecue chicken
and sausage cooked by John
Carleton.
Also served was corn on the cob,
cole slaw, pasta salad, relish trays,
and cookies as the evening meal
served to 570 TSU students in com-
bination with Springfest.
"It was just good ole fashion
barbecue," said John Carleton. "It's
differentia change of pace for us as
well as for the kids, variety. We like
to do it."
The festivities continued as the
booths opened up at 4:30 p.m. in the
mall area. Carl Kruger attended the
ring toss, and Shawn Oiler, Delta
Chi member and ICC Secretary
created an amusing target high atop
the dunking booth.
Although there was only one en-
try in the bed race, the Plowboys
stood proud as they took first. The
winning team members were Lars
Bouma, Derald Harp, Paul Hold and
Steve Simpson. The crowd was fill-
ed with cheer and laughter as they
pulled across the finish line.
TSU's own John Henderson and
Goldrush topped the evening with an
entertaining concert coordinated
with the dance.
