Not in the Panhandle.
Hon. D. E. Deckcr of Quanah,
who representa this senatorial dis-
trict, stopped in this city Friday and
Saturday on his way to Austin. In
conversation with a prominent citi-
zen, he stated that in his opinion,
the people of this city could get the
state to establish an experimental
farm in Wichita county. Regarding
the establishing of a branch of the
A. and M. College in the Panhandle,
he thought that such a measure
would be agitated at this session of
the legislature and from the preseut
outlook he thought would carry.
Wichita Falls, cf course, would like
to have them both, but it i.> hard! •
reasonable to expect that s.he ca;
succeed in securing them, therefore
our citizens should decide definite!-
which of these enterprises they most
desire, and go after it in ari or-
ganized way.—Wichita Falls Times.
We, who live in the Panhandle,
cannot see how the establishing ot
Panhandle institution at Wichita
Fails, or any other point not in th«r
Panhandle, will do the people of thi.i
section ot the state any good, and
wc respe rtfully protest against th<*
placing of any Panhandle institution
below the Panhandle line.
