EL PASO HEBAED
EL PASO TEXAS SATUEDAY AUGUST 23 1919.
THOSE of you who have remained in El Paso all the Summer have
probably noticed the activity that has been going on throughout the
store- These changes have been made so gradually perhaps you have not
noticed them? We feel sure that the people who have been away on a
vacation and visited metropolitan centers will be agreeably surprised on
their return to find that the Popular has again forged ahead and will
compare most favorably with any Department store they saw while away.
IS
LL this remodeling and rearranging has
Lbeen done simply with one idea in view
genuine service. For instance we decided in-
stead of having underwear distributed on the
first and fourth floors we could give better ser-
vice by concentrating it in one department. So
now you can find everything in Italian silk
crepe de chine muslin wear and knit underwear .
on the third floor.
We only mention these things to further impress on the public that ad-
vancement has always been and will always be a dpminanl factor here.
vN planning our Fall campaign special attention has been paid to taking care of our out of
town business. Our Mail Order Department now occupies spacious quarters on the sixth
floor. Competent shoppers and thorough inspection of all orders going out enables us to fill all
out of town orders with the greatest possible satisfaction to our customers. We remind people in
the Southwest that instead of sending to coast or Eastern mail order houses to keep this money
in the Southwest.
First of all try and secure what you want in your home town if you cannot
then give El Paso an opportunity to supply you.
Influence of
' OME surroundings have much to do with the progress of pupils in school. In this connec-
' tion we want to call special attention to our Sixth floor Carpet and Drapery Section. Here
you will find all those items that add the finishing touch to the home and helj make it brighter
and cheerier for the young people. For school Preparation Week we offer one special.
Combination Floor Lamp

most convenient article to have in your

TIVERY day next week will be devoted to supplying school apparel and accessories. All
"-'items advertised yesterday wfll continue in force. Besides these there are many Seasonable
specials that are unadvertised. Look for these unadvertised items when you visit the various de-
partments. I

IN removing underwear from first and fourth

hosiery department on the street floor. An-
other contemplated change to increase genuine
service is transferring the Corset Department to
the fifth floor. This change will occur at an
