Letters to Dandy
Dear Dandy,
To relieve tensions between
studies and classes I find that
playing racketball, preferably with
the opposite sex, has been very
theraputic. Can you cite any
authority on this belief?
One Bad Serve
Dear So you think you can play
racketball, eh?,
How about court nine, Friday,
December 16th at 10:15 a.m. at
the Y downtown. For the battle of
the year guaranteed to rid you of
all your frustrations and leave you
totally fulfilled and bleeding out
your ears on the floor ... I may
be Dear Dandy of South Texas
but I'm Mr. T on the courts and I
pitty the fool who challenges me;
so, be there if you dare.
Dandy
Dear Dandy,
I like to get to school a little
before class and when it's crowd-
ed in the lounge I've gotten used
to standing around the bell and
chatting with my friends but those
darn fraternities and BRI and
Fink people sit up at their tables
and yell at me to move, do they
have the right to clear the hall?
Don't they need venders licenses
to sell their wares like that?
Right to Loiter
Dear Obvious First Year Student,
If you can't beat 'em join 'em.
Have you signed up for BRI? Isn't
it time! What fraternity do you
belong to? Relax, take a load off,
just pull up a chair to one of the
table or start your own gimmick,
why, you could sell tickets to ring
the bell after exams.
Dandy
Dear Dandy,
This is my third year at this
school and I don't think anyone
has ever said hi to me. I know I'm
kinda plain and boring, but I want
to do something so I will be
remembered at this school. If you
could please announce that on Fri-
day December 1st, our last day of
classes that I am going to streak
through the school starting from
the downstairs mens bathroom in
the library, through the snack bar
and lounge, up and around the
prof's offices, on to the fourth
floor exiting the auditorium on
the third floor (not yet sure
whether on Dr. Riga's side or Dr.
Matthew's end) once around then
down and out into an awaiting
car. Phew I can just picture it.
Destined for fame
Dear Me,
I can't wait!
Dandy
Dear Dandy,
It's started again! Last night I
had the most horrible dreams that
I get nightly about a week before
exams start. Either I'm going to
an exam unprepared, or my car
won't even get me there, or there
isn't enough time to finish, or
something else that makes me
wake up sweaty and real anxious
and I can't go back to sleep.
Please, does this happen to
everyone?
Sleepwalking
through life
Dear Dozer,
I would guess that those dreams
happen to the large percentage of
US that are generally a tad unpre-
pared and the reality of that starts
building up. Sure, it even happens
to the old Dandy once in a while.
My advice to you is to be sure to
go to bed blotto drunk every night
until exams are over — trust me.
Dandy
Y'all have a nice vacation now
and remember just a few more
nasty letters and you won't have
to put up with this riciculous piece
of cheap spacefiller next semester
— I COULD always write for law
journal!!
Dandy Sonofvitch
