Extensive plans for the reception
and entertainment of the grand lodge
Knights of Pythlas, all visiting knights
and the Pythian Slaters, which will
meet in annual session at Austin,
April 28, have been formulated. Fully
fifteen hundred visitors are expected.
Under the direction of Joe Koen, chair-
man of the executive committee, and
F. M. Brailo, secretary, many inter-
esting and pleasant things are being
provided. Addresses of welcome will
be delivered at the Hancock opera
house Tuesday morning, April 28, by
Governor Thomas Mitchell Campbell,
Mayor F. AL Maddox, Judge George
Calhoun and Mrs. Percy V. Penny-
backer.
Tuesday evening, from 8:30 to 10.30,
the governor will receive all Knights
and Pythian Bisters at the state house.
Wednesday evening, there will be a
reception, banquet and ball at the
Driskill hotel.
The following special letter of in-
vitation has been issued to all sub-
ordinate lodges by the joint Invitation
committee composed of Judge Charles
Rogan, chairman; W. B. Sutton, J. II
Rector, H. M. Burt, Ben Morrall, Joe
Koen, O.- A. Nelson, Louis Hearne, W.

. As you know, the grand lodge of our
noble order will convene in this city
on Tuesday, April 28.
Of all cities in Texas, Austin, the
seat of goverrment, is the most beau-
tituL it has never appeared to Vetter
advantage than at the present time.
Here is our state capitol one of the
great buildings of the world. No citi-
zen of Texas can Mok upon this build-
ing. magnificent in its proportions and
surrounded by beautiful grounds with-
out experiencing generous impulses of
state pride and patriotism.
On the capitol grounds are erected
monuments in memoryot the heroes
of the Alamo, Goliad and San Jacinto
and of Iha Southern Confederacy.
Here are also located the University
of Texas, the Confederate Homes for
both men and women, the State In-
stltutlbhs for the Deaf. Dumb and Blind
as well as one of the asylums for the
care of the Insane.' Nearly all points of
interest to the visitor are accessible
by means of electric cars. Austin is a
city of excellent drives and attractive
residences.
The hospitable citizens of this city,
especially the membership of the
Knights of Pythias lodges. Mount Bon-
nell No. 34, and Lake City No. 172
most cordially invite you to attend the
ensuing session of the grand Idoge and
that you me accompanied by your
wives. Ample arrangements for your
entertainment have been made.

the second cleanup day for San An-
tonio, bad weather interfering on the
first date named, and the second day
