of good roads is one that the
Brownsville country should begin
to consider seriously.
From Mr. Hoit it is learned that
mail for the new postoffice of Mis-
sion Hidalgo county is now be-
ing routed via Mamie. This en
ables patrons of the Mission office
to receive their mail and send
answers the same day which is an
immense advantage over former
conditions.

where it came from no one could
tell. It apparently descended some
wherein the rear of Fort Brown
or possibly on the other side of

mand for such an enterprise is
shown by the fact that the doctor
has already secured renters for all
of these houses in advance of their

The Washington Park improve
ment fund was increased by the
addition of $10.40 which -was do-
nated to the fund by the dramatic
company that played at the park
Sunday night. The company had
agreed to donate ten per cent of
its proceeds to the city for the park
fund for the privilege of erecting
its tent in the park.
The examining trial of Rodolfo
Muniz charged with horse theft;
was held yesterday before Justice
of the Peace Gavito. Defendant
was bound over to appear before
the next grand jury and in de
fault of bail wassent to jail.
Passengers coming in from points
along the road between Victoria
and Lavaca report the country
around there as flooded "by the
rains with water standing in low
places everywhere.
