day night from Tyler Texas where
he has been for several days on busi-
ness. Walter Vann who is constructing
the La Parra Mutual canal at Santa
Maria came down yesterday after-
noon. J. R. Durrett and daughter. Miss
Elsie of Sphingfleld Ky are visitors
in the city the guests at the Riverside
Hotel.
O. Kirkloy of Rio Grande city is
among the number who came down
yesterday to attend TJ. S. Federal
court.
G. W. Watters of Chicago is a late
arrival in the city. Mr. Watters is-
here with a view of investing in the
Valley.
A. Y. Baker county treasurer of
Hidalgo county is spending a few
days in the city the guest of his
friends Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tate.
Dr. F. Brosshauser the enterpris-
ing land man of Mercedes who has
been spending several days in the
city returned home this morning.

Minn. and N. B. Nortrhup of Denver
Colo. both commission men arrived
in the city Saturday night and will
spend several days here. The first
