H.B. No. 1973
1 contractor or electrical sign contractor, that is engaged in
2 residential appliance installation contracting, including
3 pool-related electrical maintenance.
4 (12-e) "Residential appliance installer" means a
5 person, other than a licensed electrician, who is licensed to
6 perform residential appliance installation, including pool-related
7 electrical maintenance.
8 (14) "Pool" means an outdoor or indoor structure
9 intended for swimming or recreational bathing, including an
10 inground structure, aboveground structure, hot tub, spa, portable
11 spa, or non-portable wading pool.
12 (15) "Pool-related electrical device" means equipment
13 for a pool that:
14 (A) is installed as a unit;
15 (B) is directly connected to an electrical
16 circuit; and
17 (C) performs a specific function.
18 (16) "Pool-related electrical maintenance" means
19 electrical work that is limited to the connection or disconnection
20 of a pool-related electrical device to an existing electrical
21 circuit other than by inserting or removing a plug from an
22 electrical outlet.
23 SECTION 2. Section 1305.003(a), Occupations Code, as
24 amended by Chapters 418 (S.B. 1222) and 649 (H.B. 1029), Acts of the
25 80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007, is reenacted and amended
26 to read as follows:
