H.B. No. 2068 Chapter 428 1 AN ACT 2 relating to an identification card for certain retired peace 3 officers. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Section 1701.357(i), Occupations Code, is 6 amended to read as follows: 7 (i) On request of an honorably [a] retired officer who holds 8 a certificate of proficiency under this section, the head of the 9 [a] state or local law enforcement agency from which the officer 10 retired shall [may] issue to the retired officer identification 11 that indicates that the officer honorably retired from the 12 agency. An identification under this subsection must include a 13 photograph of the retired officer. 14 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 15 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 16 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 17 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 18 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
