CREATING McCAULLEY COUNTY LINE INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT IN JONES AND FISHER COUNTIES.
S. B. No. 28.] CHAPTER 2.
An Act creating the McCaulley County Line Independent School District
in Fisher and Jones counties, Texas; defining its boundaries, including
the present McCaulley Independent School District; providing for a
board of trustees in said district, conferring upon said district and its
boards of trustees all the rights, powers, privileges and duties now conferred
and imposed by the General Laws of Texas upon independent
school districts and the boards of trustees thereof; providing that the
present board of trustees continue in office until the expiration of
their respective terms; providing that any outstanding bonded indebtedness
heretofore voted upon any territory included within the
bounds of said district as herein created shall remain chargeable against
the territory which voted same; provided that the district as herein
created may assume such outstanding bonded indebtedness at an election
for that purpose; repealing all laws in conflict herewith; and declaring
an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. 'That the McCaullev County Line Independent School
District is hereby created and established in Fisher and Jones counties,
Texas, containing within its limits the following described territory,
to-wit:
Beginning at the N. E. corner of the G. W. Lawrence Survey No.
330 for the N. W. corner of said district; thence S. 1440 E. 9500 varas
to a point in the E. B. line of the said G. W. Lawrence Survey for the
S. W. corner; thence N. 75 decrees E, 7788 varas to a point in the S.
B. line of Section No. 53, block 1, H. T. thence S 15 decrees E. across J. R. Carter Survey and across
Sections 48, 47, 42, 41 and 34, 9550 varas to the S. B. line of the fractional
Section No. 34, for the S. W. corner of said district, this line
being the W. B. line of Plainview School District; thence N. 75 degrees
E 2850 varas to the S. E. corner of Section No. 35, block No. 1,
H. T. thence N. 15 decrees W. 950 varas to the middle point
of the E. B. line of said Section No. 35; thence N. 75 degrees E. 2450
varas to a point in the E. B. line of Fisher county, in Section No. 38;
thence N. 1500 varas to the S. W. corner of the J. S. Hail Survey
No. 2 for inner corner; thence N. 75 degrees E. 1820 varas to the most
southerly S. E. corner of the Hutchins tract; thence N. 15 degrees MW.
120 varas to the inner corner of the same; thence N. 75 degrees E.
2142.4 varas to the S. E. corner of Section No. 40; thence N. 15 degrees
W. passing the N. E. corner of said section at 2035 varas, 2488
varas, to the N. E. corner of the W. S. Pope tract; thence N. 468
varas to the S. B. line of Goliad County School Land No. 360 for the
most easterly N. E. corner; thence S. 75 degrees W. 2800 varas to
the S. W. corner of said League Survey No. 360 for inner corner;
thence N. 141/2 degrees W. 1736 varas to a point in the W. B. line of
said League Survey; thence N. 778 varas to the N. B. line of said
League said line being the E. B. line of Fisher county, thence S. 75
degrees W. 566 varas to the S. W. corner of the J. C .Cox preemption;
