Festival of Pianos Is Set
For February 2.4 at Carthage
The Annual Piano Sonaja I>e.in Crosby, Nealila Jones,
Festival, sponsored by the Car-
thage Music Club, will be held
at Panola College at Carthage
on Saturday, Feb. 24th, starting
at 9.00 a.m.
Mrs Lafayette Wofford of Ty-
ler, a national Cuild Judge will
act as adjucator. Students of all
ages are eligible, who were
ready on Feb. 7th. which was
registration date. Students of
qualified teachers who were reg-
istered in time include 22 from
the Alto School of Music Slier
wood School, students of Mrs.
Annie F. Kenner, Director of
the School.
Mr. Robert Lowe, the regis-
trar for the Sherwood Music
Conservatory of Chicago, HI., of
which the Alio School is a
branch, has just paid his annual
visit to the Alto Territory for
observance at which time all en-
rollments are checked, All stu-
dents are checked for scholar-
ship qualifications, gradings,
etc. Dean Crosby, Barbara Jack-
son, Dorothy Ann Adams, Nor-
rio Felders are eligible at this
present time for scholarships.
The School Academics must
meet with the approval at the
time of graduation from high
school for full scholarships.

thage. Mrs Kilby lioss is chair-
man of toe Carthage Piano So-
nata Festival.
The Mozart Junior Music Club
will have its regular mooting on
the third Sunday, Fob. 18th.
This meeting will eoncentrate
on quality of students in the
music dub and requirements,
and the chairman of medals.
Dean Crosby, will explain the'
credits for medals earned and
begin teaching the "Insignia."

Johnnie McKay, formerly associate ounly agent of Chero-
kee County, has returned as County Agent February 1st. He
replaced Steve „Lilly. McKay, ,Í5. has boon with (ho Houston
County Development Foundation since May of 1961. He was .
County Agent for Panola County from 1956 lo 1961. He is mar- I
riod and f« tier. of two children, Mike 14 and Sherry 9. McKay I
was Association County Agent here in 1954 and 1955. His wife,
Marie, is employed at the First State Bank >f this city. *
(¡rover Arnold, Jr., new production manager of the Scott
Manufacturing Company of Rusk, moved to Rusk the first part
of the month. The Arnold family moved hero from Dallas where
ho was an industrial and production engineer. Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold have a son, Craig, age 15. They are members of the
Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Arnold's mo til/; r. Mrs. Helena Hut-
chinson, lives with them.
Utility companies report two other newcomers to Rusk, but
c.impleto information concerning them is not readily available.
I hoy aie Claude Adams, who is reported a resident in the
sihoi-h'er addition, and Miller Burgo.
The Oris Morrow family moved to Rusk this week. Mr. Mor-
row is with tho city police department. His wife is a telephone
operator. Mr. and Mrs. Morrow have a young daughter, Shirley,
age 3. Prior to assuming his duties with the Rusk Police De-
partment, Mr. Morrow was employed in Tyler,
