School qualified for all District honors recently, according
to Coach Doug Jordan. From left front, they are: David
Norton, Billy Wicware, Bob Clayton, Mike Fulton, Rudy
Penn and Daymond Wickware; second row. Terry Martin,
Wyatt Tisdale, Mike Birdwell and Jimmy Richey. Named
to the first offensive team were Richey, Marttn and Clayton;
to the first defensive team, B. Wick ware,Tisdale and Birdwell
firs defensive team and offensive team-Penn; also to the
second defensive team. D. Vlckware, and Richey. Honorable

Casa Club Leaders Told

meeting of 1969, In the home
of Mrs. Esth.r Mae Durrett,

George Nelson, calling the
meeting to order. The me-
ettlng opened with the mem.

of the Creed, and the pledge
to the Texas Flag.
Roll call was answered by

held Thursday night, accord-

The meeting is scheduled

The annaul membership me-
eting of the Rusk Rural Wa
ter Supply Corp. has been set
for Monday, January 20th at
the Bulali Community Center
at 7:30 p.m., according to J.
L. Hassell, president of the
board.
The annual audited report
and operating budget is to fe
presented at this meeting,and
an election of the board of dir-
ectors held.
All members are urged to
attend, or select a person to
represent him by proxy at the
meeting.

Margaret N. Ross, secretary-
treasurer, Harvey Holcomb

Gov. Connally
Sets Week For
Farm Bureau
Farm Bureau membership
workers will be calling on
their fellow farmers and ran-
chers all across Texas in
mid-January to help boost
membership in the state's
largest farm organization,
according to Sidney Dean of
Victoria, TFB president.
Governor John Connally, is
one of his last official acts,
designated the week of Jan.
13.18 as "Farm Bureau Me-
mbership Week" in Texas
and urged Texans to "Co-
operate in the recognition and
observance of this week."
Dean said teams of member
ship workers in many of the
203 organized county Farm
Bureaus are planning to stage
concentrated drives for new
members during this period.
The TFB ended its 1968 year
with 110,689 members, mak -
ing it the third largest state
Farm Bureau In 'he nation.
"We believe that agriculture
is facing crucial periods both
in legislation and marketing,"
Dean said. "We will succeed
only if agriculture is organ-
ized in a strong united ef-
fort."
In Ms proclamation, Gover-
nor Connally pointed out that
agriculture Is vital to the
economic well-blng of this

Rusk welcomes I arry Underwood and his family to town.
The Underwoods came to Rusk from Jacksonville. Mr.
Underwood will J>e employed as a deputy at the Sheriff's
office in Rusk, and Mrs. Underwood Is employed at the
Texas Bank in Jacksonville. He, his wife Janet, and their seven
year old son, Byron, reside at 401 Houston Street.

Newcomers to Rusk include Mr, and Mrs. Phillip English
and their young son, Phlllipll. Mrs. English is the daughter (
of Rev. and Mrs. L. Allen Holley of Rusk, The English's
are moving to Rusk from Lawton Oklahoma and will be at
home on Crockett Street. Mr. English is In the Marine
Corp. and will be leaving shortly for Camp Pendleton, Cal-
ifornia and then will serve a tour of duty in Okinawa,
Moving to Rusk from Travis \ir Force Base are Mr. and Mrs.
George F. Beasley. Mr. Beasley retired last year from the
Air Force. He is working at Rusk State Hospital. They have
two son , James Eddie, age 22, who is also employed at Rusk
State Hospital; and Dennis Wayne, age 16,
