THE CHEROKEEAN OP RUSK. TEXAS, THURSDAY, MAY 31. 1«73>PAGB NINE
Businesses Listed Down 1.2
The number of businesses
listed by Dun & Bradstreet in
Cherokee County is down 1.2
per cent compared to figures
released at the same time last
year. According to Mr. James
Burnaw, Regional Manager for
the business information com-
pany in Dallas, there are 487
concerns listed in the March
edition of DltB's Reference
Book compared with the 493
reported 12 months ago.
Mr. James Burnaw also
announced that Dun & Brad-
street is sending computer
prepared forms with the key
facts on file on a scheduled
basis throughout the year to
companies who are listed in the
Reference Book so that the
information can be reviewed
and verified. Companies also
are being asked to provide
current financial statements.
"The program", Mr. Burnaw
said, "augments regular calls
by business analysts to update
information and is one more
example of D&B's continuing
practice of improving the
accuracy of the facts it
supplies."
Hie D&B Reference Book
does not include non-com-
mercial services and profes-
sional businesses in Cherokee,
as well as the three million
number quoted for the t.'nitcd
States, is actually somewhat
higher.
