by beating the Diamonds
by the score of 18-2. The
loss was the first for the
Diamonds and threw the
Girls' League into a two-
way tie for first place bet-
ween the Diamonds and the
Herricanes both with
records of 5-1.
The Herricanes were
paced in the contest by Lisa
Townsend's 10 points and
Jannee Dyess who chipped
in 6 points.
Meanwhile in the Boys'
"Major" League, the
Lakers remained the
League's only undefeated
team as they increased
their League leading
record to 6-0 with wins over
the Mavericks 52-4 and the
76er's 44-2. Warren Watts,
the League's leading
scorer, had the hot hand as
he poured in 44 points in the
two contests. Also, Shan-
non Riddle of the Lakers
made a major contribution
in the two games as he
averaged 14.5 points per
game.
The Lakers' unblemished
record will be tested as
they face the Warriors in
the second round of play.
Currently the Lakers hold a
l'/i game lead over the
Warriors who are listed
with a 4-1 record.
In the boys' "Junior"
League, the Spurs took
home a 21-10 victory over
the Bulletts and have clin-
ched at least the Runner-
Up spot in the League.
They will have to await the
outcome of the Hawks vs.
Bucks contest to decide
