Mrs. McGowan died Sunday, Dee.
5, at her home. She was bora May
21, 1931, in Cherokee County and
was reared in the Elm Grove com-
munity. She married Jesae
McGowan on Oct. 25,1947, and was
a member of the Elm Grove Baptist
church. She was a member of the
Order of the Eaater Star, Chapter
Court No. 347.
Survivors are three daughters,
Melba Bradley and Glend* Brad-
ley, both of Rusk and Legatha Wa-
ter* of Nacogdoches; five sons, the
Rev. Jesse T. McGowan, Floyd T.
McGowan, Ronnie D. McGowan and
Reginald J. McGowan, all at Rusk,
and Darryl Dean McGowan of
Henderson; special grandson,
Travis Mario McGowan of Rusk;
three sisters, Eleanor Parker and
Novella Johnson, both of Houston
and Genteria Boiling of Oakland,
Calif.; a brother, Robert Chambers
of Jacksonville; a foster son, Glenn
Chenault of Chicago, 111.; 23 grand-
children; two great-grandchildren;
and several nieces, nephews and
other relatives.
Pallbearers were the Rev. Jess
McGowan, Ronnie McGowan, Floyd
McGowan, Reginald McGowan,
Darryl McGowan, Bruce Bradley,
travis Black, Guy Jefferson, Ricky
Jefferson and Donnel Cox.
Deacons of the Elm Grove Baptist
Church were honorary pallbearers.

McCullough, 76, of Houston, was at
2 p.m. Saturday in the O. T. Allen
and Son Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Bobbie King officiating.
Burial was in Hester Cemetery.
Mrs. McCullough died Tuesday
at her home in Houston. She was
born Nov. 3, 1917 in Fairfield and
had lived most of her life in Hous-
ton. She was a retired nurse and a
member of the Eastwood Baptist
Church of Houston. She was a mem-
ber of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are a son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Donald and Shirley
McCullough of Houston; three
grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron and
Melinda McCullough, all of Hous-
ton.

merly of Houston were held at 11
a.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memo-
rial Park in Jacksonville with the
Rev. Gregoiy Davis officiating.

direction of Thompson Funeral
Home. Mrs. Davis died Sunday in
Nan Travis Hospital.
She was bora Oct. 24, 1901, in
Cherokee County. She lived in
Dialville for 25 years. She was an
artist and a member of ST. John's
United Methodist Church. Survi-
vors are one son, Jack Slover Davis
of Jacksonville; two sisters, Bertice
Guinn and Ruth Jennings, both of
Dialville; two grandsons, the Rev.
Gregory R. Davis of Bossier City,
La. and Frederick Slover Davis of
Tulsa, Okla.; a great-granddaugh-
ter and several nieces and neph-

Funeral for Ben Holman Jones,
86, of Reklaw was at 11 am. Mon-
day at the Reklaw Baptist Church
with the Rev. Mike Drinkard and
the Rev. Jerry Walles officiating.
Burial was in Walkers Chapel Cem-
etery under the direction of Dickie
Allen Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones died Saturday in aTyler
hospital. He was boraJune29,1907,
in Reklaw. He had served in the
Texas National Guard in 1930s,
managed Reklaw Cotton gin for
several years and owned and oper-
ated the B. H. Jones Farm Store for
31 years before retiring in 1976. He
was instrumental in acquiring the
telephone to Reklaw and was a
Baptist. He was preceded in death
by a daughter, Myra Curtis in 1987.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years,
Dorothy Wallace Jones of Reklaw; a
son, James Holman Jones ofRüston,
La.; two daughters, Linda J.
Risinger of Houston and Thresia J.
Kee of Concord; 111 grandchildren;
and seven great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

was a licensed vocational nurse,
having attended Jacksonville School
of Nursing and was employed in
plant operations for Nacogdoches
Memorial Hospital. He was a mem-
ber of Bethel Baptist Church,
Appleby and Milam Masonic Lodge
No. 2 in Nacogdoches.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Millie Houston and his father,
R B. Houston.
Survivors are his mether, Q Belle
Richardson Houston of Alto; a son
and daughter-in-law, Sgt. Michael
and Cindy Houston of San Antonio;
two daughters and a son-in-law,
Amy Houston and Amanda and
Kenny Ram bin, all of Nacogdoches;
a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy
and Bonnie Houston of Alto; and
two grandchildren, Andrew and
Samantha Houston.
Pallbearers were Steve Smith,
Herold Abney, James Oliver, Larry
Odom, Mike Caper, O.K. Winfree
and Junior Smith.

Mrs. McKnight died Monday in
Eaat Texas Medical Center-Rusk.
She was born May 6, 1909, in
Gallatin and had lived there all of
her life. She was postmaster of the
Gallatin Post Office for 26 years
and waa a member of the Gallatin
Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are two sons and one
daughter-in-law, Keith McKnight
and James and Martha McKnight,
all of Gallatin; two grandsons and
granddaughters-in-law, Kenneth
and Tina McKnight, Shane and
Lisa McKnight; two granddaugh-
ters and grandsons-in-law, Kim and
Archie Nickle, Tasha and Jimmy
Allen; eight great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
