I Singing slated
The Revelation Quartet will present
special music Saturday, Feb. 13, at
the Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
The public is invited to attend the 7
p.m. concert.
■ Bingo slated at Diboll
The Diboll Band Boosters will
sponsor bingo on Friday, Feb. 12 and
Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Lottie & Arthur
Temple Civic Center. The event will
benefit the Diboll High School Band
and its upcoming trip to Florida. Prizes
will include a 13 inch color TV, $100
cash and weekend trips. There will be
door prizes. The civic center is located
on FM 1818, a block east of Highway
59 in Diboll.
161st annual Dogwood
Festival slated
The 61st annual Dogwood Festival
in Palestine is slated for the last two
weekends in March and the first
weekend in April. On March 13, the
Tour de Palestine bike race offers a
chance to get out and experience the
countryside on 10,25 or 50 mile tours.
The Texas State Railroad begins its
. spring season with runsbetweenBusk
and Palestine.
An Arts and Crafts fair is scheduled
from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. March 20 in
downtown Palestine and a Senior
Citizens Bazaar will be held from 9
a.m. until 3:30 p.m. atthe Senior Center
125 Kickapoo. Registration for the
March 21 trial ride will be March 19 at
the Do-little Ranch. A parade is
planned for 10 a.m. March 21. Other
activities include an antique and classic
car show, county and western concert
and dance and murder mystery.

the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is
sponsoring a health fair to celebrate
February as "Healthy Heart Monttf\
The fair is scheduled for Tuesday,
Feb. 16th, from 7;30 a.m. until 11:30
a.m. There will be free screenings for
cholesterol, blood pressure and booty
fat. Educational information will also
be available.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Center
is located inside of the hospital at

an UIL Academic contest at Pine
Tree High School. The team con-
sisting of Prem Chandrasekaran,
Allen Parrish, Susan Scailon and
Corey Hooks placed first in Divi-
sion II--Small Schools. Also, indi-
vidually, Mr. Chandrasekaran
placed second; Mr. Parrish, fourth;
Mr. Hooks, fifth and Miss Scailon,
sixth. These students are coached
by Sissy Crysup.
In addition other placing in other
areas were Mr. Parrish, fifth in
calculator, coached by Barbara
