Westwood nips Rusk

The WestwooclPanthershit a
bucket at the buzzer to defeat
Rusk, 70-69.
Rusk got 31 points from
Justin Sturns, Other scor-
ers included Horrace Lewis
13, Vincent Tucker 8, Bobby
McDuff 6, J.J. Sessions and
Eddie Harris 4 each and Brent
Jones 3 points.
Rusk held the lead at half-
time. The Panthers rallied for
29 points in the final period,
including 21 points from three-
pointers.
The Rusk Eagles took a hard-
fought 72-55 win over Central
on Feb. 7 in District 21-HA

Alto drops key district game
to Cross Roads
The Alto Yellowjackets fell to Cross
Roads in a key recent District 21-2A
basketball game by a 52-44 final.
Alto scorers include Julian Willis with
12,Tyson Mitchell 10, BrandonThacker
5, Tarcellus Mitchell and Kendrick Morris
4 each.
The Yellowjackets also lost in a
recent game to Frankston, falling by a
66-56 score.
Julian Willis had 23 points and Tyson
Mitchell added 17.
Frankston and Malakoff are battling
for first place in the district with Alto
competings against Kerens for the final
playoff spot.
The Alto Lady Jackets have clinched
a playoff berth finishing as co-champions
of the district, tied with Frankston. Alto
is the first seed based on the head-to-
head record.

Bulldogs.

tests.
Jasmine Harris was all
over the floor, scoring 21
points against a tough Central
defense.
