When Will We Ever Learn?
By Bill Chandler, Evangelist
Is Being Wrong Ever Right?
Numbers 24:13 Balaam said to Balak, "If: Balak
would give me his house full of silver and gold, I
cannot go beyond the commandments of the Lord,
to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what
the Lord saith that will I speak." An air conditioning
contractor installed a new unit at a customer's home.
The unit was installed according to the homeowner's
specifications and was working properly. The bill was
just as the contract specified. After three months
the bill remained unpaid. The contractor made a
personal visit to the customer. The unit was working
fine but the customer informed the contractor that
she had no intention of paying the bill. The contractor
considered going to the woman's house and
removing the unit without her permission. However,
the only recourse for the contractor was to follow
legal procedure and execute a judgment against the
customer. The contractor questioned which course
of action was fair. The contractor had a right to
collect his money. The law was on the customer's
side concerning repossession. An ethical legal and
practical dilemma faced the contractor. What was
the right thing to do? Is being wrong ever right?
There are several principles involved in determining
if wrong is ever right.
WRONG IS WRONG IFYOU NEVERGET CAUGHT.
Getting caught by others does not determine right
from wrong. David sinned against the Lord with his
affair with Bathsheba. Through deception, David
was able to escape condemnation from others
in Israel. However, David did not take into account
God's ability to see all things. (Proverbs 15:3) "The
eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the
evil and the good," WRONG IS WRONG EVEN
WHEN IT APPEARS TO BE FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
An honorable purpose does notjustify a dishonorable
deed (1 John 3:4) "Whosoever committeth sin
transgreseth the law: for sin is the transgression
of the law." Jesus said some frightening things in
Matt. 7 verses 22 and 23. "Many will say unto me
in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils?
And in thy name do many wonderful works? And
then will I profess unto the, I never knew you,
depart from me, ye that work iniquity," Jesus Christ
could only have in mind those who are doing
those benevolent works, but are refusing to follow
his commands on the subject of faith, confession,
repentance, and baptism for the remission of
sins. WRONG IS WRONG EVEN WHEN OTHERS
ARE DOING WORSE. Solomon clearly stated that
each individual will be judged according to his own
deeds. (Eccl. 12:14) "For God shall bring every work
into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it
be good or whether it be evil." The Pharisee of Luke
18 compared himself to a lowly publican, yet Jesus
taught the publican was justified because he used
God's standard as the standard of comparison.
(Luke 18:14) WRONG IS WRONG EVEN WHEN
THE CONSCIENCE IS NOT BOTHERED. The
conscience can be seared. (1 Timothy 4:2) "Speaking
lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with
a hot iron." The conscience can be misguided. (Acts
23: lb) "Men and brethren, I have lived in all good
conscience before God until this day." The concience
can be fooled. (Proverbs 28:16) "He that trusteth in
his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he
shall be delivered." Some things can feel right, but
can be absolutely wrong. (Proverbs 16:25) "There
is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end
thereof are the ways of death."WRONG IS WRONG
EVEN WHEN IT IS GENERALLY ACCEPTED
BY ALL. Social acceptance and popularity do not
determine proper action. (Exodus 23:2) "Thou shall
not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall thou
speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest
judgment." Jesus taught the way to destruction was
broad and many would find it." (Matt 7:13) There
is never a wrong or sinful action that can be
considered to be right with God. As Christians we
must choose the right road. (Matt 7:14) and bring
honor to God. (Matt 5:16) "Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way which leadeth to life and few
be there that find it." "Ye shall know them by their
fruits." So, I would suppose that the only time wrong
is right is when one realizes they have been wrong
and admit their mistakes and make correction. In
this case wrong becomes right. The old saying
"A wise man changes his mind and a fool never
does." (Proverbs 12:15) "The way of a fool is right
in his own eyes: but he that harkeneth unto counsel
is wise."

"New World
Dis-order"
A number of recent actions and
decisions by the courts and by our
legislators have been perceived
by many people on both sides of
the issues as an unprecedented
departure from the protections
afforded to us by our US
Constitution. These new decisions
will weaken our long standing
history of justice and liberty, our
Constitution . There was not much
on the TV or radio about the Law
just signed into effect. The law will
now provide money to all schools to
be paid by tax-payers money. (To all
schools.) The change in direction
Is a deviation from the "principles of
Protest-antism". And when these
principles are abandoned, a time
of cruelty and tyranny will be seen
throughout our nation.
The president declared a national
day of mourning for our former
president, Gerald Ford, back
in January '07, who was an
honorable, decent and dedicated
man, who pulled this country
together. However, by that act, the
president can now call upon any
day to be honored, like: "the day of
worship" or "A Family Day", one for
each week.
The terrible state of affairs will
inevitably result in the establishment
of a National Sunday Law.
"Our land is in jeopardy. The time is
drawing on when its legislators shall
so abjure (to renounce solemnly)
the Principles of Protestantism
as to give countenance to Romish
apostasy.... thus arouse the tyranny
which only waits for a touch to start
again into cruelty and despotism
(despotism = a ruler with absolute
power and authority, exercising
power tyrannically)." SOP, Vol. 4,
