by this Act, shall have and exercise, and is hereby vested with all
the rights, powers, privileges and duties of a town or village
incorporated under the General Laws of the State for free school
purposes only and the board of trustees of said Willamar Independent
School District shall have and exercise and are hereby
vested and charged with all of the rights, powers, privileges and
duties conferred and imposed by the General Laws of this State
upon the trustees of independent school districts, incorporated
under the General Laws of Texas for free school purposes only.
SEC. 4. That Willamar Independent School District as created
by this Act shall pay its share of any indebtedness now due by
the Lyford Independent School District to be pro-rated according
to the assessed value of that part of this district which is a part
of said Lyford district and the said Lyford district for the
year 1924.
SEC. 5. The board of trustees shall have power to and may
appoint a tax assessor and collector and board of equalization
for said district.
SEC. 6. The unsatisfactory condition of the schools in said
district creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity
that the constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three
several days be suspended, and the same is hereby suspended, and
that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
passage, and it is so enacted.
[NoTE.-The enrolled bill shows that the foregoing Act passed
the Senate, 22 yeas, 0 nays; passed the House, 100 yeas, 0 nays.]

CREATING THE MUMFORD INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN ROBERTSON COUNTY.
S. B. No. 384.] CHAPTER 85.
An Act creating the Mumford Indepedent School District of Robertson
County, Texas, as is included by the field notes as follows: Defining
its boundaries, investing it with the rights, powers and duties and
privileges of a district incorporated for school house purposes under
the General Law; providing for a board of trustees therefor; making
provisions for taxation for school purposes in said district and declaring
an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby created and established in
Robertson County, Texas, and incorporated for free school purposes
only, under the name of, and to be known as the Mumford
Independent School District, which shall include within its limits
the following described territory;
Beginning at the southwest corner of Robertson County,
same being the N. W. corner of Brazos County, at a stake on the
east bank of the Brazos River.
