PERMITTING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS BY SAN SABA
COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING INDEBTEDNESS
INCURRED FOR ROAD AND
BRIDGE PURPOSES.
S. B. No. 436.] CHAPTER 106.
An Act to amend Section 2, Chapter 40, Local and Special Laws enacted
by the Regular Session of the Thirty-fourth Legislature in
1915, same being an amendment to San Saba County Special Road
Law, by adding thereto Section 2-a to permit the issuance of bonds
by San Saba County for the purpose of funding or refunding indebtedness
incurred for road and bridge purposes; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Chapter 40 of the Local and
Special Laws enacted by the Thirty-fourth Legislature at its
Regular Session in 1915, same being an amendment to San Saba
County Special Road Law, be amended by adding thereto Section
2-a which shall read as follows:
Section 2-a. The commissioners' court of San Saba County,
is authorized and empowered to fund any and all indebtedness
lawfully incurred for road and bridge purposes prior to March
1, 1925, whether the same be current, funding or simple contract
debts, and whether issued in the form of warrants or
otherwise, into bonds of San Saba County, redeemable and payable
in not more than fifteen (15) years from date, and the
same may mature serially or otherwise as may be determined
by the commissioners' court and may bear interest at the rate
of not exceeding 5 % per annum, interest payable annually or
semi-annually as may be determined by said court. All such
funding bonds shall be in such denominations as may seem expedient
and the court shall provide for the levy of an annual tax
upon all property within the county to provide for interest and
sinking fund; provided that the aggregate amount of said bonds
herein authorized shall not exceed the limitations provided by
General Law; and provided further that it shall not be necessary
to submit the issuance of said refunding bonds to a vote of
the property tax payers of said county.
SEC. 2. The fact that San Saba County has a large amount
of valid road and bridge warrants outstanding which can prob-
