mile post of the Nueces-Kleberg County Line bears east 470.9 varas,
thence north with east lines of Sections 123, 104. 87. 6852 and the

(S. 1/2) of Section Thirty-three (33) for northeastern corner of
this district. Thence in a westerly courser with the north line of

Section Thirty-three (33) for a corner of this district. Thence
south with the western boundary line of Section Thirtv-three (33)

SEC. 2. The said Santa Cruz Independent School District shall
have and exercise and be vested with, all the rights, powers, privileges
and' duties of a town or village incorporated under the General
Laws of the State, for free school purposes only; and the board
of trustees for the said Santa Cruz Independent School District
shall have and exercise, and is hereby vested and chargd with,
all the rights and powers, privileges and duties, conferred and
imposed by the General Laws of this State, upon trustees of independent
school d;sttiets created and organized for school purposes
only, under the General Laws of this State Among the rights,
powers. privileges and duties herein mentioned. shall be the rights
and powers of levying and collecting taxes for the issuance of bonds
and the erection of school houses, and for the maintenance of public
