430 SPECIAL LAWS.
vested in a board of trustees that shall be composed of three persons
who are resident citizens and qualified voters within said district,
the manner of their election and tenure of office to be as
follows:
As soon as practicable after this Act becomes a law, three trustees
shall be elected, and they shall be divided into two classes, and
the members shall draw for the different classes; the member drawing
the number one shall serve until the first day of April next
thereafter, and until his successor is elected and qualified; and the
members drawing numbers two and three shall serve until the first
day of April of the second year thereafter: that is, until the second
April thereafter, an'd until their successors are elected and qualified;
and regularly thereafter on the first Saturday in April of
each year one and two trustees, alternately, shall be elected for a
term of two years, to succeed the trustees whose term shall at that
time expire.
SEC. 4. Immediately upon the taking effect of this Act the
county judge of Lubbock County, Texas, shall order an election for
the election of trustees for the said Lindsey County Line Independent
School District, and shall appoint three persons to hold said
election, and designate the place where and the time when same
shall be held, and shall cause notice of said election to be posted or
published as required by law. Such election shall be held in accordance
with the State laws governing elections; and returns of
said election shall be made to the commissioners' court of Lubbock
County, Texas, which said court shall canvass the returns and declare
the result at its first meeting thereafter.
SEC. 5. There are bond issues on the said Carlisle Independent
School District, and said Shallowater Independent School District,
and the placing of parts of the territory of said two bonded districts
in this new district shall not release said new' district from
the burden of its proportionate shares thereof: and the said Lindsey
Countv Line Indendeedent School District shall assume and pay
on the said bond issue now outstanding against the Carlisle Independent
School District of Lubbock County, that proportion of the
annual interest, sinking fund and principal of said bond issue that
the assessed value of the portion taken from said Carlisle Independent
School District and placed in the Lindsey County Line Independent
School District bears to the whole assessed value of the
said Carlisle Independent School District of Lubbock County; and
shall also assume and pay on the bond issue or issues against the
Shallowater Independent School District of Lubbock County, that
proportion of the annual interest, sinking fund and principal of
said bond issue or issues that the assessed value of the portion taken
from said Shallowater Independent School District bears to the
whole assessed value of said Shallowater Independent School District.
SEC. 6. The authorities of th

School District shall each year ascertain the proportionate
amount due bv said district to the said Carlisle Independent School
District of Lubbock County, for the purpose of paying off the bond-
