Ry. Co. Survey 386 to its northwest corner on the east line of tihe
B. Mancha Survey; thence south in the east line of said B. Mancha
Survey to its southeast corner; thence west in the south line of saidB.
Alancha Survey to its southwest corner, and continuing west in
the south lines of a B. B. B. thence south 18 deg. east with
Hardin and Liberty County line to the southwest corner of Hardin
County thence east with ,aid Hardin and Liberty County line to
the corner of Hardin, Liberty and Jeffelsun Counties in Pine Island
Bayou ; thence down Pine Island Bayou, with its m;eanders to( the
place of beginning.
The above described territory including the present Sour Lale Inidependen
School District, as created under the General Laws.
SEC. 2. That the heretofore existing Sour Lake Independent
School District of Hardin County. Texas, the boundaries of which
are within the metes and bounds hereinbefore set forth, is hereby
abolished, and the said district is hereby divested of the control and
limanag'emenlt of the public free schools within its limits, and the
said Sour Lake Independent School District of Hardin (ounty,
Texas, as herein defined and established, is hereby vested wnit thhe
sole and exclusive managelientt and control of all public free schools
within the metes and bounds of said district as herein created.
SEC 2. The title to all properties belonging to any and all of the
school district included in and composing the Sour Lake Independent
School District of Hardin County, Texas. hereby create d and established,
and to all property heretofore owned or claimed by the City
of Sour Lake, Texas, and used for school purposes, or that held in
trust by anyl person or persons for the use and benefit of anly and
all such schools, is hereby divested from and out of such schools, the
Citv of Sour Lake, Texas, and all persons holding the same or any
part thereof in trust, and is here and now vested in the Sour' Lake
Independent School District of HIardin CIourty, Texas, a-, herein
created and established and in its board of trustees, land te said
Sour Lake Independent School District, as herein created and established,
shall be liable for the payment of all indebtednes;, leaally
incurred and now owing by such former independent school district
the city of Sour Lake, Texas, or any portion of a district therein
included, provided such indeltednes shall have been incurred by
reason of the management and control of the said public free schools
and by reason of the maintenance thereof.
SEC. 4 The management and control of the public free schools
within said district, as herein created and established, is hereby,
to the exclusion of every other authority, except as to the supervisorv
control of the State Superintendent of Public Insrruction and
the State Board of Education, vested in a board of trustee, which
shall be composed of seven person who are resideC t citizens and
