Of Guilds Held at
Methodist Church
The Wesleyan Service guild of
Whaley Memorial Methodist
church was host for the district
meeting Sunday afternoon in the
church sanctuarv. Guild repre-
sentatives from Bowie, Denton,
Saint Jo and First Methodist,
- Gainesville. were present.
Fifty guild members attended
the church service and during
Communion were served at the
altar in a group by Rev. W. D.
Sras pastor, and Rev. J. W.
Members then were joined by
other visitors in the church par-
lor where they were served a
covered dish luncheon. The tables
were beautifully decorated in the
harvest and autumn theme. Ar-
rangements of fruit and flowers
were in black iron containers on
each table and the center table
held a horn of plenty. Mrs. Carl
Holland and Miss Marie Cannon
fixed the tables.
Mrs. Myrtle Stout. district sec
retary, presided and Mrs. Berl
Pearson of First Methodist gave
the devotion on “Holy Bread.”

W. E. Purcell offered the opening
prayer and organ music was fur-

Dr. Ethelyn Davis of Texas
State College for Women. Den

Three Flags ” and at the close in-
terviewed Miss Lily Gulvady of
Bangalore. India. who is attend-
ing TSCW on a scholarship com-
pleting her doctor’s degree in nu-
trition. A love offering was pre-
sented to Miss Gulvady.
Miss Beatrice Gervers of Paris,
the North Texas conference WSG
secretary, was presented by Mrs.
Stout and gave an ihspirational

birthday dinner given at the
home of Mr and Mrs. Rex Crow,
