The big elevated zinc cistern
ov?r the well at the residence of
H. C. Clark fell with a heavy
thud Monday morning, busted
itself and mashed every thing
under it, and while no one wa9
near enough to be hurt, the noise
made neighbors sit up and take
notice' It held several hundred
gallons, wa9 full of wator and on
top of a galvanized iron tower.
It rested 011 wood work on top of
the tower and this had become
so rotten and sobby that it couid
stand no longer. The pump,
pump house and bath hcuse
were immediately under it and
when it fell on them, tlie.v nr sh

An enjoyable entertainment
was given Monday afternoon by
Mrs. Walter Werner at her hos-
p table residence in honor of
her sister, Miss Helen Jones, of
San Antonio, who is spending a
portion of her vacation here.
The weather was somewhat
against the accasion, causing
the happy crowd to Uisperse
sooner than they would have
done otherwise, though, each
and all were loud in their praise
of the queenly hostess who made
for them an evening of pleasure.
Miss Helen's friends here are
legion and many are the regrets
that she will leave in a few days
for San Antonia where she will
finish the course in the high
school next session.
