Coming Wedding
Announced Here
the Past Week
Uct Wednesday afternoon, August
ft, was a scene of a beautiful bridge
party, when Miss K at he riñe Ellis en-
tertained a large group of young
ladies during the late afternoon hours.
After several exciting games of
bridge, and the prizes being awarded,
small trays containing grape juice
and glasses were placed on each table
by Miss Maxine Ellis. As the guests
were served Miss Doris Clampitt re-
ceived a telegram, which she read
alead in her pleasing manner. To the
surprise of all, the telegram revealed
the approaching marriage of Miss
(Catherine Ellis to Mr. Ezelle E.
Darby, September 13, 1930. As con-
gratulations were offered. Miss Willie
Nerville gave a toast to the bride-
elect, expressing the good wishes of
her many friends.
The color scheme of pink and white
was carried out in the salad course
that was served. Each tray was
covered with a pink luncheon cloth and
to match. The sandwiches
very dainty, cut heart shape, as
the small cakes, with pink icing.
Tike mints were also heart shaped and
the salad garnished with heart shaped
pimento.
Tlie favors were miniature brides
grooms, corresponding with the
■core carda, which were tiny brides,
seated in large wedding bells.
The bride-to-be was very becoming-
ly dressed in a powder blue chiffon
afternoon dress, princess style with
harmonizing accessories .
An out-of-town guest for this
occasion was Mrs .Sam Brewer of
Cameron.
